Start with the correct battery version

The current 2027 table lists a 37.1 kWh traction battery for Hi4-T and Hi4-T Smart, and 59.05 kWh for Hi4-Z Smart. These are version-specific values, not interchangeable options on every 500. Battery capacity alone does not determine charging time. Confirm the exact trim and its charging documentation before comparing a home charging installation or public charger. Use the same version in the quotation and compatibility discussion.

Read charging time with its conditions

A charging-time statement must identify AC or DC charging and the stated starting and ending battery percentages. Check the relevant manufacturer notes and retain their conditions. Charger output, battery temperature, state of charge and other operating conditions influence actual performance. Do not treat a laboratory interval as a guaranteed stop duration, or compare a partial fast-charge interval with a full overnight session. Ask for clarification if the source's interval is unclear.

Verify the connection at your destination

Request photographs and documentation of the actual ports, included cables and proposed equipment. Have compatibility checked against the local installation and available chargers before purchase. Avoid selecting an adapter solely from a generic internet listing. Include the intended home or public charging arrangement in the enquiry, together with trim and destination. This lets the proposal address real ownership requirements instead of repeating a battery-capacity headline.

Questions, answered.

Do 3.0T mild hybrids use PHEV charging specifications?

No. They have a different powertrain. Do not apply Hi4-T or Hi4-Z traction-battery and charging data to them.

Is battery size enough to predict a charging session?

No. Charging mode, charger capability, battery conditions and the measured state-of-charge interval also matter.
